Carlos Gonzalez is a PhD candidate in the Aerospace Engineering department at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Subsequently, he worked as a research associate in several robotics institutes, including the Dynamic Legged Systems Lab at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC). He is currently interested in safe and robust locomotion strategies for legged robots by combining optimal control theory and learning-based approaches.
