Chelsea Collier is a PhD student in the School of Information (iSchool) at the University of Texas at Austin advised by Dr. Ken Fleischmann. Her research interests focus on the intersection of public engagement and ethical AI expressed through human-robot interaction. She is also a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA), for the Smart Hand Tools project which is a part of the UT Good Systems Grand Challenge, a multidisciplinary research team focused on the use of smart hand tools to support the middle skill workforce. Prior to joining the iSchool, Chelsea founded Digi.City, a forum to explore smart cities and the social good. She also serves as Editor-At-Large for Smart Cities Connect. Her previous experience in government, tech entrepreneurship and social impact informs her cross sector approach. Her MS and BS degrees are from the College of Communications at UT Austin.
